Peter the owner and the girls working there are great! Very friendly and want to make their customers happy. If you are in the area you need to try Brick & Bell, such a cute atmosphere and amazing food!

Not a great location as it's very crowded and the store itself is very tight inside with barely any room to move when ordering or adding milk/sugar to your coffee. I got the oatmeal which wasn't the best choice as it was very watery and tasteless. My boyfriend ordered a breakfast sandwich that he enjoyed. Their coffee was average, nothing special. All in all, a resounding "meh" from me. The plus is that the prices were very reasonable and they do offer several options for coffee customization (almond milk, sugar free syrups, etc) which can be difficult to find.

Very important deli-cafe in La Jolla. They have a very nice patio. You order at the counter and when it's ready? They bring it out to you. I had a cup of soup (vegetable beef) and half sandwich (Turkey avocado) for lunch. Both were tasty and very filling. The service was friendly and helpful. I understand they have a very nice breakfast.

I ordered a Medium Matcha late. It had large clumps dry powder on the top not mixed in. It was really strong tasting and very dark. I thought, ok I will just have them add more water. Which I did and I slowly drank it. I should have known better. At the bottom was nearly 2 tablespoons of thick match powder. Come on if you offer drinks then know how to how to make them. Staff needs training! It seemed like a third of a cup of powder was in my drink. Maybe 8 times a properly made drink. It's dangerous to offer that much caffeine. I literally couldn't sleep all night.
